Laurie got her birth certificate on Saturday. She’s now legal, and the name is permanent. We were given the option of a short certificate for free, or the long certificate for 3.50. You can’t get a passport with the short version, but then again 3.50 buys 14 nappies. So we got the short version.

On Thursday Laurie slept through the night for the first time.? Pip got six hours of unbroken sleep for the first time since the nineteenth of December, and was so pleased she woke me up at 6:30 a.m. to tell me.

Girls night out

Just been out for night to restaurant with 18 local Mums – I am so lucky living here. Barn did a great job looking after L while I scoffed Italian.

Laurie gains, I lose (I hope)

Well latest weigh in today – 10lb 11oz (that’s over 1lb since last Tuesday!) and now I’m finding it hard work carrying her in the sling.

I forgot to mention that Laurie and I now do Salsa classes! I lose weight while she sleeps in her carrier on my front. Requires quite a bit of […]

2 Months Today

It’s Laurie’s 2-month birthday today.

Button comparison

This is scary – see how Laurie’s grown! (BTW Button is a sort of mascot from uni days – she is quite foul but still).

Thames walk

On Saturday we had such a lovely and sunny day walking all along the Thames from our house to London Bridge and home from Southwark tube. Ginny and Jo joined us.

We stopped off at various pubs and cafes en route including a great Turkish deli.

Mind the gap?

I’ve not had much time to post recently, so here are edited highlights of the last two weeks…

We went to Felixstowe, saw Toby and Andrea (congratulations on your engagement), and inspected the storm damage.

Laurie had a fireside bath.

Mum bonded.

The next weekend we went to Kent, saw the Drs Silcock, and had […]

And then to Kent…

We took Laurie for her 2nd visit to Granny & Poppa in Kent. It was a great chance to catch up on some sleep, the weather was pretty poor. Grabbed some baby bargains in Deal’s charity shops. Clare and Alan (Bristol friends now living in Kent) joined us for Sunday lunch. Laurie wore a dress […]

Felixstowe visit

Last weekend we visited the Moss family Felixstowe branch. This is me with Laurie on the beach. She still cannot fit her snowsuit and was getting entirely lost inside it.

Only other news is that we went to the cinema last week with about a hundred other babies, it was good actually. Also the gas […]
